Change of Plan - May Camp

Beaten by the Rain but Not Defeated

I’m afraid the weather seems to have beaten us this time.  Heavy rain is forecast from today till Sunday afternoon

Given the number of young children, we do not believe going ahead with the camp is the right decision.  If it was light rain with semblances of sunshine then it would be a different matter but it doesn’t appear that will be the case.

New Camp Format

Craig has spoken to Neil and Bruce this morning and we are working on an alternative plan which we will confirm later this afternoon.  In the interests of giving everyone as much notice as possible thought you would appreciate as early a heads up as possible.

  • Friday Night:
    • Cancelled. Stay in your warm, dry houses!
  • Saturday:
    • 4:00 pm: Arrive and Games. Meet in the St Matt's Function Room
    • 5:00 pm: Dave Hanbury’s famous Church Service will kick off
    • 5:30 pm: Dinner. Neil Smith and some helpers prepare a Saturday evening barbecue for us.
    • 6:30 pm: Movie night in the Upper Room
    • Sleep Over: Bruce has kindly offered for all of us to sleep overnight in the upper hall.
  • Sunday:
    • 7:00 am (ish): We can all enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared by Neil and his team
    • 10:00 am: Roll into Church on Sunday morning, then head home afterwards.

Can you Make It?

For registered campers, please let us know if you can make it to the revised plan in Manly on Saturday. (We need to ensure the catering is still right).

Refunds

We are contacting the Narrabeen Campsite to see what refund, if any, is available and will let everyone know as soon as we can.

Our apologies for this cancellation. It’s the last thing I wanted to do after all the effort but trust you will understand the decision and hopefully still join us on Saturday evening.

Thanks, Craig Hurt & Team.
