Save The Date(s) [Nov'15]

As we get hints of summer weather breaking in, it is time to cast your minds forward, reach for  your diary, and block out all dads and kids to be at Narabeen on:

  • Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November 2015

Its going to be warm. (Even if it rains, it will be warm!). There will be beach time. There will be big community fun.

Lock it in and prepare to register from Thursday 24 September!

Change of Plan - May Camp

Beaten by the Rain but Not Defeated

I’m afraid the weather seems to have beaten us this time.  Heavy rain is forecast from today till Sunday afternoon

Given the number of young children, we do not believe going ahead with the camp is the right decision.  If it was light rain with semblances of sunshine then it would be a different matter but it doesn’t appear that will be the case.

New Camp Format

Craig has spoken to Neil and Bruce this morning and we are working on an alternative plan which we will confirm later this afternoon.  In the interests of giving everyone as much notice as possible thought you would appreciate as early a heads up as possible.

  • Friday Night:
    • Cancelled. Stay in your warm, dry houses!
  • Saturday:
    • 4:00 pm: Arrive and Games. Meet in the St Matt's Function Room
    • 5:00 pm: Dave Hanbury’s famous Church Service will kick off
    • 5:30 pm: Dinner. Neil Smith and some helpers prepare a Saturday evening barbecue for us.
    • 6:30 pm: Movie night in the Upper Room
    • Sleep Over: Bruce has kindly offered for all of us to sleep overnight in the upper hall.
  • Sunday:
    • 7:00 am (ish): We can all enjoy a hearty breakfast prepared by Neil and his team
    • 10:00 am: Roll into Church on Sunday morning, then head home afterwards.

Can you Make It?

For registered campers, please let us know if you can make it to the revised plan in Manly on Saturday. (We need to ensure the catering is still right).

Refunds

We are contacting the Narrabeen Campsite to see what refund, if any, is available and will let everyone know as soon as we can.

Our apologies for this cancellation. It’s the last thing I wanted to do after all the effort but trust you will understand the decision and hopefully still join us on Saturday evening.

Thanks, Craig Hurt & Team.

2 Camps Confirmed for 2015!

We can confirm that two Dads and Kids Camps will be held this year at Narrabeen's Sydney Lakeside venue. Dates are:

  • Winter: Friday 1 to Sunday 3 May, 2015
  • Summer: Friday 27 to Sunday 29 November, 2015

Please whack the dates in your diary, spread the news far and wide, invite your friends and neighbours and try and encourage people new to St Matts to come along and make some friends.

Another awesome weekend down!

What a great weekend we have had at the St Matt's Dads & Kids' Camp!

The weather this November weekend was spectacular. The beach, water and sunshine was amazing. The fact that Neil Smith planned all the meals was unbelievably good.

Our kids had a wonderful time playing with each other and deepening those relationships that we hope will last for year.

Dont' forget to check out The Video too!

89 Humans from 33 Families Can't be Wrong!

That's right, this Friday it all kicks off again on site!

We have 33 families coming along across the weekend (well so far, we might get some more late stragglers as the unsuspecting Dad is signed up "anonymously"…)

Key last minute info is being emailed out to the Dads and more info is on this website. Just remember to pack well, and warmly and get ready for another awesome weekend away!!

May Camp is filling up fast!

We've got over 16 families signed up and ready to go camping in a few week's time.

We know that there are many more Dad's who are caught in the "procrastination vortex", just waiting for the 4 minutes needed to sign up online and commit the mother of their children to a bit of R&R.

So, all in all, it is shaping up to be another cracking event!

PS. Register now if you haven't already!!

May Dads & Kids' Camp - Registrations open!

We are happy to announce that the registrations are now open for the May 2014 Dad's and Kids Camp.

You can again Register and Pay Online for the camp. We've even included your Coffee Order in the rego form, so you are one step closer to camping happiness by just registering! ;-)

Looking forward to seeing Dad & Kids return, along with some new folk to the May event also.
